I have many quality UT releases that never leave my virtual record box. I love their passion for underground, progressive (in the true sense) deep and tech house grooves and am always really impressed with their energy, stamina and professional attitude, and particularly their inventive and fresh promotional campaigns

"What up folks. Mad mad things been happening lately but I wont get into that yet. Last night, Bad Fotography sat down with Andrew Leary from Relation (you know, that band that we were all so fucking obssessed with and still are), and we talked about their critically acclaimed recent release, Fear of Night, the possibility of having Burns or Fred Falke doing their remixes and touched on some pretty deep and personal stuff. Check it!"

Relation are two men who make warm and elegant electronic pop music. 'Your Tiny Mind' is the first single off their brilliant album 'Fear Of Night'. We know that a lot of Popjustice readers are going to love this album". Popjustice song of the day (Your Tiny Mind)

"The title track Made In Belfast is arguably the best in the EP. It is a strings-driven affair in which their intricate interweaving keeps growing as the track progresses and gains energy. As it reaches the breakdown, the blissful piano riffs marry with the synths joyfully; and when the kick comes back, the energy level soars whilst the harmony of the synths delivers an angelic groove that could serve to end a night amazingly."

'Feel It' seems to revel in the sheer simplicity of its design: a dreamy soundscape pitched somewhere between the ethereal drift of Air and the more sedate works of Underworld. In contrast to the hazy ambience, Giles' delivery is striking for its unadorned clarity. His earnest, earthy tone is reminiscent of James Taylor's, though the occasional falsetto clearly owes a debt to Tom Chaplin of Keane.'

Ultimately, it's the uniquely symbiotic relationship between Giles and Williams-- the interplay between the vocals and slowly unfurling instrumental sections-- that elevates "Feel It", and the Diogenes Club, to something greater than the sum of its parts.

"For fans of the era, or those discovering it via the current stylistic resurgence, you'd be hard pushed to find a better throwback with modern g(u?)ilting than this debut album." Click here for the full interview

"Fear of Night is the debut album from Southend duo Relation, aka Andrew Leary and Oliver Keech. Combining elements of classic 80s electro pop with crisp modern production, Fear of Night is filled with songs that on the surface appear simple, but on closer inspection reveal lyrical and sonic depths." UT106
Released: 16th November 2009
Tom Middleton, the man with the best facial hair and head accompaniments in house music joins the fray at UrbanTorque, dropping the deep house bomb 'Hypnotizer'. To anyone familiar with Tom's work, they will know him as a beat technician, with a love of all shades and forms of electronic grooves. 'The Way' by Global Communication (Tom Middleton & Mark Pritchard) has been a top five favourite here at UrbanTorque for as long as we can remember, and as huge fans of the Jedi's work, it comes with a great sense of pride to have bagged one of the true legends of the scene on to our humble label. Not content with that, we asked two UT favourites to get busy on the remix front, with Francois DuBois and Scope providing two stunning mixes to complete an awesome package.
