Italian Aki Bergen (also known as Neuroxyde) has been conquering the dance world since his first steps in to music at 14. He started gigging all over Italy, later across Europe and now tours the world with a hefty agenda. In 2007 he earned a silver disk in France and has had over 400 000 records sold world-wide. His imprints: Starlight Music and Neurotraxx have seen collaborations with the likes of Shara Nelson (Massive Attack), Dubfire and D.O.N.S. Aki has recently been exploring the deeper side of house and has successfully topped Beatport’s no1 chart with his collaboration with Doomwork called ‘Jazzy Stuff’.

His first appearance on Urban Torque®, ‘Black Side EP’ recovers his original techno fever in deep and groovy motions. ‘Black Side’ features extracts from Martin Luther King’s speech along riffs of floating synths attended by incandescent drums. Second comes ‘Shake It Down’ (mixed alongside Doomwork) – a loungy, atmospheric record with brief voluptuous vocal patterns. Finally, ‘Bigger Than Life’ has an afterhours warehouse feel with a tranquil bass pattern.
